Aussie Success At China Equine Cultural Festival

Co-organised by the China Horse Club, Wuhan Equestrian Association and Wuhan Jockey Club, supported by the Chinese Equestrian Association and under the supervision of Hubei Equestrian Association, the 2015 China Equine Cultural Festival (CECF) was held over the weekend at Wuhan. With a theme of ‘China Dream. Racing to the World’, the 2015 Wuhan Open Horse Racing Autumn Season’s opening meeting will continue the rise and rise of China’s most prestigious racing carnival – the China Equine Cultural Festival. Many Australian-bred runners were represented throughout the five races conducted for thoroughbreds at Wuhan’s Orient Lucky City International Racecourse, with the running of the Goffs Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cup (1200m) taken out in impressive fashion by the below pictured Commengy (Commands x Elegy), bred by Evergreen Rich Pty Ltd. With key opinion leaders, business icons, artists and celebrities from across China as well as industry leaders from across the globe attending a glittering gala and the race meeting, it was impressive to see over 10,000 people in attendance for the race day, a credit to the China Horse Club for their promotion of the sport not only in China, but on the global stage.
