Next Stop Inglis Classic

As we head towards the final day of the Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Book 3 set to be held on Tuesday, the next sale in the Australian yearling sale series is the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale will be conducted on February 6, 7 and 8.

With past graduates including the likes of Group 1 winner Brazen Beau, Mourinho, Peggy Jean, Fiveandahalfstar, Manawanui, Ilovethiscity, Pressday and Secret Admirer, Inglis would be hoping that the impressive sale results from the past week will see a flow on effect to their first sale of the year.

“After being inundated with over 1,400 entries, every entry was analysed using the Inglis Bloodstock team’s rigorous selection process, and we are confident we have the type for every buyer among the 575 final selections,” said Inglis National Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy

“Buyers will find an exceptional variety on offer at Classic this year, from precocious two-year-olds and sprinting greats to Derby types and Classic performers, all by a great selection of sires,” added D’Arcy.

Selling extremely well at the Magic Millions, Snitzel will be represented by eight lots at the sale including Lot 17, Arrowfield Stud’s colt out of the Hussonet mare Hussterics, making the colt a half-brother to the Inglis Classic 2YO winner Lady Jivago (Beneteau).

Another sure to have admirers is Segenhoe Stud’s Lot 240, the first foal of Sequential Miss, herself a half-sister to Fastnet Rock’s Group 1 winner Lone Rock, from the family of stakes winners Procrastinate, Laisserfaire, Time Thief, Foreplay and Centennial Park.

With first crop sires proving extremely popular over the past week, the Inglis Classic sale will see the progeny of All Too Hard (4), Americain (1), Animal Kingdom (3), Bullet Train (12), Crowded House (1), Dalakhani (3), Delago Deluxe (12), Excelebration (13), Harbour Watch (7), Niagara (2), Pierro (2), Power (1) and Your Song (21) on offer.

Leading the way for first crop sires at the Magic Millions were the yearlings by Pierro, and Carramar Park’s Lot 65 sure to prove very popular at the Classic Sale.

She is the first foal of the stakes placed Fastnet Rock Light Express, who is herself a half-sister to not only Champion 3YO filly and triple Group 1 winner Alboran Sea, but to the Starspangledbanner half-brother sold last week as part of the Rosemont Stud draft for $540,000.

The sale will kick off at 6.00pm on Saturday February 6 , following racing at Randwick and will also feature progeny by a huge assortment of sires including I am Invincible (30 Lots), Star Witness (28), Hinchinbrook (26), Denman (22), Dream Ahead (20), Nicconi (18), Smart Missile (15), Choisir (12), Sebring (11), Foxwedge (11), So You Think (10) and Stratum (9).

“The introduction of the evening session is an innovation to the sale that will give our clients, especially those visiting Sydney, the opportunity to attend Royal Randwick during the day to see the running of the $250,000 Inglis Classic, and then make their way to Newmarket just minutes away in time for the first horse to walk through the ring at 6.00pm,” said D’Arcy.
