John Kelly

John Kelly is the fourth generation of the Kelly Family to operate Newhaven Park on the Boorowa River. John, along with his brother Charles & their families stand sires Mo’Unga, Cool Aza Beel & Xtravagant on 7700 acres of rolling hills & river flats, and operate a hotel & property business in Sydney.

Newhaven Park has enjoyed a wonderful association with Australia’s premier two-year old race, The Golden Slipper, breeding four winners. In recent times Newhaven Park has enjoyed great success either breeding or racing Group One winner In The Congo, Shout The Bar, English, Odeum & Mariamia.

Newhaven Park was founded by the Kelly family in the 1920’s, and became a fully fledged thoroughbred venture in 1945. Following time working at Coolmore Ireland & Ashford Stud, John’s life has been based around Newhaven Park, where breed shaping stallions such as Wilkes, Maurading, Luskin Star & Zeditave have stood.
